Yesterday I decided to embark on a flight from London Gatwick (EGKK) to Los Angeles International (KLAX), ATXLGW008A. So I did all the pre-flight seting up etc, etc, etc. Then I noticed the fuel required was a little high, it was VERY high! I checked my route and found I'd been routed round the wrong side of the globe, the long way around shall we say. This was my fault for not choosing NAT Tracks = On on ASA's flight planner. All distances in our routes pages have now been corrected and I'm currently flying over the Atlantic, otherwise known as the short way!

Today we have stepped closer to our goal of organising our hubs and routes by going live with London Gatwick, Glasgow Prestwick and Cork. These hubs now contain all the ICAO charts (as of 27th March 2007) and loads of routes. To view and download these please click on the link on the hub section of our home page. Your will then be taken to our new forum where the information is housed.

We are totally rethinking our hubs and changes are underway, keep an eye on the forums (hubs and routes) to watch what's happening! After talking to various people I have made the decission on what hubs we are going to run with. The list is below. Information for each hub is going to be kept in our new forum along with chart downloads and routes. Eventually I'd like to employ one member of staff for each hub (hub manager) and a Hub Director to oversee the Hub Managers.

Today I have added a new professional forum which will not only provide a place for our members to discuss various topics but will also play host to a lot of our information. I will be using our new forum for many things so keep a close eye inside and visit regularly. Please be aware that some of the information in our new forum is not complete, an example of this is the hubs information section. I will be adding information as and when I get time.

I have split up the Latest News section into years, so we now have pages for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. It seemed a little daft to have news from July 2004 described as latest news! Latest news may be moved to the forum, I'm yet to decide.

ATUKv asks it's pilots to use our new signature image when posting in other forums. This will help ATUKv to become a household name in the flight sim community. Also bear in mind that when you do post messages that others will be linking your bahaviour with ATUKv so please be nice! The banner can be linked to at http://www.atukv.net/forumsignatures/forumsignature1.jpg

You'll probably have noticed that the type face and style of ATUKv has changed and that we now sport a flashy new home page. These are just the beginnings and many more changes are currently underway.
